Stephen Z. Fadem, MD, Named a Top Doctor in the U.S.

    HOUSTON, TX, January 09, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stephen Z. Fadem, MD, FACP, FASN, Physician with Kidney Associates, PLLC, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in nephrology.

Drawing on more than 36 years of experience, Dr. Fadem is regarded as an expert in the management of chronic kidney disease. In 1985, he co-founded the Houston Kidney Center. This network of dialysis centers eventually became part of a larger DaVita network. In his current role as a DaVita medical director, Dr. Fadem is responsible for overseeing quality management, credentialing and peer review for several local dialysis centers.

Dr. Fadem was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and became involved in his profession after becoming inspired by his family's physician. He received a MD from The University of Oklahoma in 1973, and completed his renal fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Recently inducted into Worldwide Registry, Dr. Fadem is the Chairman of the American Association of Kidney Patients Medical Advisory Board, and chairs the Medical Advisory Board of the National Kidney Foundation Serving Texas. He is a past board member of The Renal Physician's Association.

Recognized for his dedication to nephrology, Dr. Fadem has received many honors, including the American Association of Kidney Patient's Peter Lundin Award and the National Kidney Foundation's Distinguished Service Award. He was listed in Castle Connolly's selection of America's Top Doctors five years in a row, and was named a Top Doctor in the U.S. by U.S. News & World Report. Dr. Fadem is active in clinical practice, teaching and research. He just completed editing the book, Essentials of Chronic Kidney Disease.
