/24-7PressRelease/ -- Chad Hughes, founder and president of ResQ Track & Trace, who recently judged the business plans presented at the recently held Stuart Clark Venture Challenge in Manitoba, states there is "amazing talent" emerging from the post-secondary school systems. "These young people are determined to put theory into practice and launch exciting and impactful new ventures," he added, upon returning to his Toronto office. "In fact, I invited quite a few men and women participating in the challenge to submit their resumes, if they are not successful securing capital."
Celebrating its fifth year of supporting entrepreneurship among graduate students, the Stuart Clark Venture Challenge is Canada's largest and most prestigious international business plan competition, attracting 24 teams from 22 schools. Five of the Top 20 ranked universities in the world were in Winnipeg for this year's competition. Students from every competing university also had a trade show booth and competed in a contest to present their one-minute elevator pitch.
According to the Dean of the Asper School, Glenn Feltham, this is the first time so many of these schools have gathered in Canada for a collegiate competition. In addition to the large number of schools contacted and invited, the Asper School arranged for an array of exceptional international judges to participate in 2009. These judges are experienced entrepreneurs and executives from places like New York, Boston, Toronto and San Francisco, including Jordan Saxe, VP of NASDAQ. Augmenting the $25,000 in cash, an automatic berth to the world championships and customized Moose jerseys, the winning team will open the NASDAQ market on August 18.
