WHAT: First of the "Music on the Mall" Summer Concert Series, sponsored by the Independence Visitor Center. This week, hear a "Tribute to the Legends"—from Oldies and Motown, to Bandstand Greats, and a Tribute to Sam Cooke. The group "First Class" will be performing. The series is free to the public. The event will be held every Thursday evening throughout the summer.
WHEN: Thursday, June 19, 2008 (5 p.m. - 7 p.m.)
WHY: To enjoy the sounds of diverse live artists, bands and multi-cultural entertainers who will perform a variety of music genres such as oldies, jazz, blues, Motown, American classic, soft rock and reggae; as well as take in the beauty of America's most historic square mile - including the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Constitution Hall, and the Independence National Historical Park. Also, the "Music on the Mall" Summer Concerts will allow families to spend a few hours together, and enjoy the summer weather!
