    LARCHMONT, NY, September 06, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Monday, September 14th at 6:00 pm, Clarke Auction, Westchester's Premier Auction Gallery, will end its great summer season with its deepest and best catalog of 2009, and of recent years. The sale was created from estates across Greater New York including Greenwich, Purchase, Bedford, Park Avenue, Great Neck, Forest Hills, Summit, 72nd Street, Riverdale, Rye, Williamsburg, White Plains, and Larchmont.

Antique and Traditional Furniture includes a suite of antique French case furniture; 19th Century dining tables and chairs; American Empire, antique Hitchcocks. A pristine Regency-style fan-form dining table after Robert Jupe is expected to be a highlight of the auction. Also of special interest are four nine-foot carved hardwood columns with great color and patina, possibly Spanish Colonial in origin.

Decorative arts include a four foot high antique Blackamoor, and Moorcroft, Royal Berlin portrait plaques, a bravura midcentury Italian marble horse sculpture, a collection of estate Chinese and Japanese porcelains, Baccarat , and a single owner collection of fine art pottery including rare Van Briggle and Rookwood examples.

Horological highlights are a Pratt Boston Tall Case Clock, a Menzies of Perth Tall Case clock, an antique Empire New York shelf clock, a Victorian Marble Clock Garniture set, a gilt-bronze French columnal clock, and others being inventoried.

Extensive Lighting features a pair of Bronze-Patinated Birds as Lamps by sculptor Paul Comolera; a collection of bronze and stained glass lamps and chandeliers; Art Deco sconces and lamps; Gilt Metal & Tole Bouillotte Lamps; Oversized Candelabra Figure-form Lamps; Asian porcelain lamps; Sterling hurricane lamps; Pairs of Sconces, and Crystal Chandeliers.

Midcentury modern includes a pair of Edward Wormley chairs for Dunbar, Harvey Probber, Baker, Ernst Schwadron, Robsjohn Gibbings, Chiavari, Dunbar, Curtis Jere and other sculpture, a Saarinen suite, and mirrored furniture.

Silver includes a collection of Irish and English Georgian sterling salvers, trays and teapot, a 1906 bowl by Gorham; Georg Jensen; a collection of German .800 and .812 silver; a twin-handled antler, wood and silver hunting cup, and other pieces.

Carpets to include antique and semi-antique orientals and a palace-sized open field Persian from a Bedford estate,.

Fine art from the 17th C. through 20th C. includes a rare tonalist work by Emily Keene Barnum, a 19th C. English oil; anonymous midcentury oils as found abandoned in the cellar of a local frame shop; works by Eugene LaForet, a rare Charlotte Shirley watercolor, oils by C. Fascini, A. Franchet, John Brandon Smith; and works attributed to Joshua Reynolds and Peter DeWint.

African-American pieces from Greenwich include two folk art vintage whirlagigs. More important are two early 19th C. New Orleans legal documents about the slave trade, each in an antique oak frame, also from Greenwich.
