Six races were organized as part of the event namely, World 10K Elite Men and Women, Senior Citizens' Run (4km), Wheelchair Event (4km), Open 10K Run and Majja Run (5.7km). Total price money was $150,000.
Participating in the event, Sumne' s MD Mr.Guruprashath said that the race facilitated him to watch world class athletes like Zersenay Tadesse from Eritrea, Paul Tergat from Kenya, Rwanda's Dieudonne Disi and others in action. "The event is really good. There is so much of enthusiasm and fun among the people. I could meet many people from different parts of India and outside and run along with them. It was a wonderful experience". He said the race has created a sense of unity and integrity by bringing the people from different parts of the world together. "One should also use such race to burn calories and maintain good health. This is very important in the current stressful life", he said. He opined that such events would also expose the Indian talent to the world and hoped to see more such events in the future.
During the event, Sumne' s encouraged the participants and the spectators to share the videos or photos captured by them, either by mobile handsets or by digital cameras, with friends and relatives by uploading them into http://www.nammaVideo.com.
