Dr. Suh entered the medical profession on the recommendation of his three uncles, all of whom are doctors. He is especially proud of serving in the department of internal medicine and the endocrinology division of Dong-A University College of Medicine, which is Dr. Suh's alma mater. He has previous been a primary investigator with type-2 diabetes and dyslipidemia, as well as various drugs and therapies for treating associated pain.
In addition to his three uncles, Dr. Suh's grandfather and his cousin are professors. His father is Keunhack Suh, a retired professor of Pukyong National University, and Sook Park, a devoted mother and housewife who supported the Suh family. Dr. Suh attended Dong-A University to earn an MD in 2002, followed by a Master of Science and a PhD. He served to the rank of captain as a medical officer with the Korean armed forces.
Dr. Suh attributes much of his success to his mentors and colleagues at the Samsung Medical Center, where he trained and worked in the division of endocrinology and metabolism from 2010 to 2013. Dr. Suh rejoined his alma mater in March of that year.
Dr. Suh is licensed as a doctor and specialist in internal medicine as well as endocrinology and metabolism. He is a lifetime member of the European Society of Endocrinology, the Korean Endocrine Society, and the Korean Diabetes Association. To round out his incredible family of physicians and academics, Dr. Suh is married to Jeehyun Lee, associate professor of food science and nutrition at Pusan National University.
