Sungsu Kim Recognized for Contributions to Environmental Engineering

Dr. Kim has published 15 papers to domestic journals and 46 papers to international journals



Specializing in the field of environmental energy, Dr. Kim serves as an assistant professor with the Department Of Environmental Energy Engineering at Kyonggi University.

    GYEONGGI-DO, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, November 16, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sungsu Kim, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Specializing in the field of environmental energy, Dr. Kim serves as an assistant professor with the Department Of Environmental Energy Engineering at Kyonggi University. He has served as an editor for the Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry since 2015, and as director of the Korean Society of Odor Research and Engineering since 2016. He is involved with a wide range of professional organizations, including the Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry, the Korea Society of Environmental Analysis, the Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Korean Society of Industrial Engineering, the Korean Society of Environmental Engineers, the Korean Society of Clean Technology, and the Nanotechnology Research Association.

Dr. Kim began his career at Kyonggi University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2006, a Master of Science in Environmental Energy Engineering in 2008, and a PhD in Environmental Energy Engineering in 2012. He went on to complete a postdoctoral research fellowship through the department of chemical and biological engineering at The University of British Columbia. From 2012 to 2014, he completed research in membrane and enhancement of reactor performance by metal membrane under the supervision of professors John R. Grace and C. Jim Lim. Previously, he served as a sergeant in the Republic of Korea Army.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kim has recognized for his contributions to the scientific community. Most recently, he was awarded the Best Poster Award from the Korean Society of Odor Research and Engineering for his work on, "A study on the conversion of H2S to SO2 using a metal oxide-based catalyst." He was also awarded the Best Paper Award by the Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry in recognition of his work, "Electrospinning Method-based CNF Properties Analysis and Its Application to Electrode in Electrolysis Process." A widely regarded engineer, he has contributed 15 papers to domestic journals and 46 papers to international journals in the last seven years.
