/24-7PressRelease/ - April 27, 2007 - Arriving in September 2007 at the British Museum, the First Emperor: China's Terracotta Army exhibit will offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the twentieth century, as well as provide insight into the legacy of China's First Emperor, Qin Shihuangdi.

Short break specialist Superbreak has just launched a range of short break packages that combine overnight accommodation with a timed entrance ticket to see the First Emperor: China's Terracotta Army exhibition in London.

Objects featured in the exhibition, which runs from September 2007 to April 2008, will include a number of the world-famous terracotta warriors from Xi'an, China, which were buried alongside the First Emperor in readiness for the afterlife, as well as some of the most striking recent discoveries made on the site. By introducing the idea of a unified state and effectively establishing China in 221BC, the First Emperor of Quin created what is today the oldest surviving political entity in the world. How that state has survived, developed and is viewed today will be explored through events, lectures and debates revolving around the London exhibition.

Superbreak offers short break deals through over 100 hotels in London, many of which are within a few minutes' walk of the British Museum. The three-star Royal National Hotel, for example, is located close to the British Museum, but also conveniently situated for visits to Covent Garden, theatreland and the West End - so visitors can enjoy a number of London's top attractions on their short break. For a more serene setting, visitors can choose to stay at the four-star Montague on the Gardens hotel. Located adjacent to the British Museum, this hotel overlooks a tranquil garden setting.
