/24-7PressRelease/ - LONDON, UK, February 17, 2006 -- The rise of big fish in form of supermarkets may swallow up the retailers by 2015.

It is anticipated that if these small retailers are crushed then local communities would suffer the most, as it may be at cost of their social and economic status.

According to a report entitled High Street Britain: 2015, the all party group stated that the elderly, ethnic minorities and also the immigrants would be the worst suffers if the retails shops from the high street disappear.

One of the main problems that these small retailers are facing is that of funds. The big fish, supermarkets have the larger inflow of funds then these retail shops and thus they can get their work done with money.

If these retailers on the High street disappear than, the consumers will be the worst sufferers. To help the ultimate consumer there should be a control measure taken by the government to curb the rising supermarkets. Also a code of practice for retailers is also recommended.

According to the British Retail Consortium (BRC) this report is manipulating the established consumer shopping habits. The supermarkets are on rise because they cater to the changing needs of the customer and if the retailer has to compete with these super markets then they should offer abetter deal stated Kevin Hawkins, the BRC's director general.
