Canadian Fertility Consultants, Committing to Healthiest Outcomes through New Surrogacy Program

    TORONTO, ON, May 08, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Canadian Fertility Consultants has changed its longstanding policy of allowing its clients to decide whether or not to transfer multiple embryos into their Surrogate Mother, running the risk of a High Risk, Multiple pregnancy.

Instead CFC will institute a SET (single embryo transfer) policy for all clients using eggs from a woman under 35 years of age.

This policy change is part of a movement CFC is developing to ensure the protection of its Surrogates and Children born through Surrogacy.

We would never advise a pregnant woman to Skydive, so why would we put her at risk, along with the babies she's carrying?? The risks of multiple pregnancies are clear, and we are ensuring that this risk is eliminated in our new SET only program.

Cfc's CEO, Leia Swanberg knows that they may initially lose clients because of this change, however the time this month she has spent consoling families who have suffered tragedy when multiple pregnancies goes sideways is not something she ever wants to do again.

Our intention is to protect all parties involved by committing to the safest outcomes possible. We will stand behind our policy by offering a Discounted Second journey agency fee, and will encourage other industry professionals, such as lawyers, as Fertility clinics to do the same for those who are pursuing two journeys simultaneously.

CFC hopes that fertility clinics, and other industry professionals will also come on board, mandating the protection of the women carrying, as well as the families being created.

The Surrogates in our program are such amazing women, and deserve to be honoured and respected, and this is the way that we can do that. We can commit to the Healthiest Outcomes for them.
