/24-7PressRelease/ - Marlette, MI, April 1, 2008, Susan A. Bucholtz, Director of Bands for Marlette Community Schools, will be included as an honored member in the 2008-2009 edition of the Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry for excellence in music education.
Mrs. Bucholtz boasts 16 years of professional experience in music, both as performer and teacher. She brings her expertise in music education and the French horn to Marlette Community Schools, directing the music program there and providing music instruction to students in the fourth to 12th grades. She is proud to have been instrumental in the development of the district's elementary school music program from the ground-up to the outstanding program it is today.
Because everyone has different ways of learning music, Mrs. Bucholtz incorporates various aspects, such as singing, hands-on activities and dance, in her lessons to help her students understand concepts and learn new musical pieces. She enjoys teaching the fourth grade because this gives her the opportunity to teach young students how to explore the origin of various sounds and how to make sounds, as well as how to craft original instruments such as Indian drums and rain sticks. The most gratifying aspect of her career, however, remains to be teaching high school students and watching them progress as musicians. In the future, she hopes to expand her program to involve more children, aspiring to instill in every one of her pupils a passion for music that will lead to a career either as a teacher or a performer. She attributes her success to the support she received from her parents.
A Master of Music Education graduate, Mrs. Bucholtz is affiliated with Sigma Alpha Iota and the Sault Ste Marie International Orchestra. She was recently bestowed an Outstanding Teacher Award by Marlette Community Schools. She may be reached through email at [email protected].
