GENEVA, IL, October 5, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Susan J. Brien, Instructor and Facilitator at Performance Learning Systems, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education.
With more than 38 years of professional experience, Dr. Brien specializes in teaching instructional skills to teachers. As an instructor and facilitator at Performance Learning Systems, a performance training institution specializing in direct and online instruction of graduate education courses for educators and prospective educators, she is responsible for organizing and conducting online courses for graduate students and educational professionals, and teaching purposeful learning, differentiated instruction and nine other courses including classroom management, multiple intelligences and responsibility. She became involved in her profession because of her love for children and the inspiration she received from her own teachers. The recipient of the Women's Distinguished Service Award from the American Association of University Women and the Distinguished Service Award from RICCA, Dr. Brien attributes her success to her faith in God and to the support she receives from her husband and family.
Dr. Brien earned her Doctor of Education from Northern Illinois University in 1992, her Master's Degree in Physical Education for the Handicapped from the University of Kansas in 1976, her Bachelor's Degree in English and Physical Education from Emporia State University in 1971. In addition to her work for Performance Learning Systems, she works as an adjunct professor at Southern Wesleyan University, the University of St. Francis and Rockford College and is currently working on an education masters program with several graduate cohorts in Illinois and Wisconsin. She is affiliated with the SPURS National Honor Society, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Brien's goals for the future include continuing her professional growth with the same company and becoming a full-time professor at a university.
