Swap Modern Music For Ancient Instruments In Seville
The Ancient Music Festival in Seville brings songs to life using historical instruments.

SEVILLE, SPAIN, February 04, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Music is a big part of Spanish culture and plays a central role in many of the celebrations and fiestas that occur in the country.

Of course, these have been going on for hundreds of years and while electric guitars, drum kits and keyboards are now used to make music, this has not always been the case.

As people staying at hotels in Seville may discover, the days of the lute and the harp are not quite gone thanks to the city's Ancient Music Festival.

This takes place every March in a selection of churches across the region as well as the Alcazar at the historic town centre.

Additionally, concerts take place in the Lope de Vega theatre, which was auctioned in 1927 and covers more than 5,600 meters.

Only historic musical instruments are used at this festival and people may find that they learn something about ancient entertainment as well as enjoy the festivities which, like all Spanish fiestas, are likely to be very memorable.

If you're heading to the Ancient Music Festival this year, we strongly advise that you book your hoteles en Sevilla as possible, given the huge popularity of the event.

Also taking place at the Lope de Vega theatre in March is a production of Phaedra, which is written and directed by Miguel Narros and is based on the story of two worlds united by Greek and gypsy classical tragedies.
