/24-7PressRelease/ - AMMAN, JORDAN, June 09, 2007 - Taameer Jordan awarded 100 distinguished students from the Hashemite School for Girls, as part of Taameer's plans to fully adopt and support the School.
The awarding ceremony took place at the school premises on May 27th 2007 and in the presence of H.E. Mr. Talal Al Budur, Head of the Education Directorate of Aqaba, Mr. Saleh Khawaldeh, Technical Manager of the Education Directorate of Aqaba, members from Taameer's team and members of the school faculty and administration. This event marked the start of the adoption project that the firm will be undertaking over a period of several months. The project will include the renovation of school facilities and buildings, re-painting and strengthening of the school's infrastructure.
This initiative is to be implemented as part of a large scale project launched by the Jordanian Ministry of Education, and in cooperation with entities from the private sector, and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) with aims to foster higher levels of development in schools across Aqaba region.
Commenting on this project, Mrs. Rula Samara, PR and Media Manager at Taameer Jordan and Project Manager for this particular initiative, said: "Real estate companies investing in Aqaba could play a crucial role in developing its community, proportionate to the huge size of investments currently undertaken by these companies. Adopting al Hashmieh school goes inline with Taameer's vision in contributing to achieving sustainable development for Aqaba's community."
It is important to note that Taameer Jordan has already completed the construction of approximately 60% of its Red Sea Resort Project, valued at JD 50 million. The project is located on the southern shores of Aqaba, and is built over a total area of 147,400sqm of land. It includes 260 villas alongside an array of entertainment facilities. A 9000 sqm entertainment center is located in the heart of the resort and is home to a health club, Jacuzzi, gymnasium, tennis courts, tracks fully planted with trees, kids clubs, seating areas, cafes, restaurants, and a sea view terrace and beach club.
Taameer also developed Ayla Park Plaza in the center of Aqaba. The project consists of 2 commercial buildings that are 8500 sqm each, alongside 4 buildings that contain over 34 shopping outlets, restaurants and other entertainment facilities.
