/24-7PressRelease/ - SINGAPORE, August 08, 2008 - Datacraft, Asia's leading independent IT services and solutions company, has carried out a complete makeover of the IP networking environment for Taiwan's second largest insurance company, which is designed to enhance customer service and boost employee collaboration as the organisation's business continues its rapid rate of expansion.
This contract entails the replacement of the existing Nortel PBX system with a secure and expandable IP Telephony (IPT) environment, plus the installation of 700 IP phones in the client's newly renovated office building. Additionally, Datacraft was tasked with integrating a fully collaborated IP network with those of the company's new headquarters in downtown Taipei, as well as a separately located subsidiary.
For the renovation project, Datacraft designed and implemented a sophisticated IP-based network, including the installation of IP phone sets and the deployment of a complex call manager inter-cluster architecture, which required a high level of technical expertise and experience. The new IP phone system displays far more information than its predecessor and provides a better user experience in terms of seamless communications and enhanced collaboration.
By completion, a total of 2,000 IP phone sets had been installed for the insurance company in both the buildings, which together enable employees to enjoy access to call management applications, unified voicemail and an integrated Rightfax fax server system.
The resulting improvement in internal communications between different business units has significantly boosted collaboration and productivity within the organisation. At the same time, the insurance company's top tier customers now enjoy exclusive services at the newly completed luxury customer service centre in the renovated office building.
The IPT solution includes both wired handsets and wireless hand phones for mobile use. It introduces new applications like voice recording that enables employees to automatically capture calls, ensuring that claims and other important data are fully logged. A voice monitor and troubleshooting utility has also been introduced to automate alert notifications should problems arise.
At the same time, company administrators are able to centralise phone system management across all offices, reducing bills for long distance calls and dramatically cutting mobile phone charges by maximising the use of Voice-over-IP calls.
The renovation project required the work to be completed floor-by-floor, according to a stringent timeline. Datacraft was well-placed to handle the rigours of this task because of the strong working relationship that was already established with the company during a previous IP network implementation project.
The contract includes ongoing network maintenance and support using Datacraft's Uptime maintenance services.
"This successful IPT deployment is an excellent showcase for Datacraft's capability and track record in large-scale implementations," said Benjamin Wang, General Manager for Datacraft Taiwan. "More importantly, it underscores our strong working relationship and affirms the client's confidence in Datacraft. We are hopeful that this partnership will be extended in the near future to more business opportunities for its network of offices."
