From there, he started his decades-long journey with Nigata University, working as an assistant professor of plant physiology before taking on the roles of associate professor, dean of the agricultural faculty, and dean of the Graduate School of Science and Technology. Over the years, he has also lent his expertise to the Forum for Nuclear Corporations in Asia and Positron Emitting Tracer Image Systems.
A graduate of the University of Tokyo, Dr. Ohyama holds a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science and a PhD. His professional affiliations include the International Society of Soil Sciences, the Japanese Society of Soil Sciences and Plant Nutrition, the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists, the Soil Microbiological Society of Japan, and many others. Throughout his career, he has contributed his vast array of knowledge to a number of creative works, including "Nitrogen Fixation in Root Nodules," "Methods for Isotope Experiments," "Plant Nutrition for Sustainable Food Production and Environment," and the "Dictionary of Roots."
