TalkTalk Tipped To Turn Tiscali Around
Broadband comparison site www.broadband-expert.co.uk believes TalkTalk will have their work cut out in appeasing thousands of unhappy Tiscali customers, following the company's recent acquisition of Tiscali's UK business.

    SURREY, ENGLAND, June 10, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rob Webber, Commercial Director at Broadband Expert explains that, "over the last 3 years Broadband Expert has received more complaints and negative comments from Tiscali customers than any other internet service provider." Despite this Webber is tipping the Tiscali acquisition to be a success.

Webber sees parallels between the Tiscali broadband service and TalkTalk's offering 3 years ago. He states "When TalkTalk first announced their 'free broadband' offer in 2006, they drastically under estimated the level of response, resulting in very poor customer satisfaction levels. However, they responded quickly to these issues and we now receive much more positive feedback from TalkTalk customers." Webber believes "TalkTalk is well positioned to address problem areas having made huge strides with its own broadband service over recent years."

Webber highlights low speed and unreliability of connection as common Tiscali customer complaints, but believes the key issues facing TalkTalk are customer service and technical support. As Webber explains, historically Tiscali offered one of the cheapest services available and acquired many new customers from those shopping predominantly on price. However, when new players such as O2 (and indeed TalkTalk themselves) entered the market, offering equally or even more competitively priced deals with a superior service, the Tiscali proposition was seriously undermined.

With competitors already marketing themselves as an alternative to Tiscali broadband, Webber believes that the key to TalkTalk's ability to maximise the opportunities of the acquisition is the speed with which they can address these issues and retainTiscali's existing customers.

Ultimately, having been pleasantly surprised at the speed with which TalkTalk made significant improvements to their own service, Webber is backing them to achieve similar success with the Tiscali acquisition.
