/24-7PressRelease/ - TAMPA, FL, July 05, 2008 - Although the big game is still more than half a year away, that hasn't stopped Embassy Suites Tampa Airport Hotel/Westshore, one of the leading hotels in Tampa, Florida, from getting ready for it. On February 1, 2009, Super Bowl XLIII comes to Tampa Bay and Raymond James Stadium. Lucky ticket-holders will flock into town late January to fill more than 71,000 seats, and this Tampa hotel plans to attract a full crowd with the upscale lodging, service and convenience that have made Embassy Suites an industry leader.

Super Bowl XLIII will be the 43rd edition of this annual contest between the National Football Conference's (NFC) and American Football Conference's (AFC) top teams. The first Super Bowl was played on January 15, 1967 and his since become the nation's most-watched television event, generating a record 97.5 million viewers for the 2008 Super Bowl XLII.

In fact, the Super Bowl has grown much larger than the game itself. Feature attractions now include star-studded halftime shows, massive tailgating celebrations, and even awards ceremonies dedicated solely to the advertisements aired during the broadcast.

This will mark the fourth Super Bowl to be hosted in the Tampa Bay area and the second for Raymond James Stadium, only minutes from the Embassy Suites Tampa Airport Hotel/Westshore. Raymond James Stadium, the regular season home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is best known for its 103-foot, 43-ton replica pirate ship that fires confetti and soft footballs into the crowd whenever the Bucs score a point. During Super Bowl XXXV in 2001, pre-game, halftime, and post-game reporting took place aboard the ship.

With first-rate amenities like complimentary cooked-to-order breakfasts, nightly Manager's Receptions, and a free shuttle to and from Tampa International Airport, Embassy Suites is the authority on relaxed and rewarding Super Bowl travel.
