/24-7PressRelease/ - February 29, 2008 - On Thursday morning Greg Robbins the star of TBN Networks "Pastor Greg" sitcom will be pumping free gas to the residents of a small Pennsylvania town not far from Pittsburgh in Allegheny County.

In 2004 fierce rainfall produced by the final throws of hurricane Ivan put most of the town of Carnegie underwater as rivers swelled and people scrambled for safety. The town is still recovering from the effects of Ivan's terrible wind and rain.

Greg and his associates along with Dr. Pete Sulack of Matthew 10 Ministries and the host of the show "God Can Use You" will be pumping the free gas as a way of teaching people about "practical giving." Greg says "there are 18,000,000 people in the world right now starving to death. It needn't be that way if we all learn to do something right now." Greg says "if people can learn to give what they can now without hoping to get something in return they could change the world.

Jesus asked everyone to give this way (Luke 6:35) and Greg and friends are offering a practical example for people to follow. The lesson is simple says Greg it is to teach people that "God can use you."

Even as some notable ministries are being scrutinized for financial practices here is a case of public generosity that gets the ball rolling in the opposite direction. Hopefully it will garner national media attention as an example of what can happen if ministries open up to a more extroverted kind of public example. Its not about publicity, its about "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Mt. 5:16)

The gas giveaway starts Thursday morning February 27, 2008 in the BP gas station located at the corner of East Main and Chestnut Sts. in Carnegie.
