    NEW YORK, NY, February 13, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With total teen spending on fashion related items up by two percent on a year-over-year basis and six percent sequentially, according to the Fall 2009 "Taking Stock With Teens" survey, interest in all things style-related continues to rise. Savvy summer camp FashionCampNYC has taken notice and is offering teen and tween designers an opportunity for serious design, recognition and a hefty prize package with

The "Lug Your Stuff" in Style contest, kicking off February 3, 2010 and ending March 15, 2010.

Entrants visit FashionCampNYC website! Grand Prize: a weekend in NYC, $500.00 shopping spree and a week of FashionCampNYC. Finalists and winners' work will appear on the FashionCampNYC website, and all camp attendees will sport the new tote.

"Giving aspiring designers a taste of life in the real fashion world is what FashionCampNYC is all about," according to FashionCampNYC director, Gordon Josey. "Whether it's a contest like this, or our camp sessions with real pros from major fashion labels, publications or suppliers, we are all about experiencing the business of fashion."

FashionCampNYC, now entering its fourth year, has provided real fashion world experience to over 300 campers from as far away as Argentina, Spain, Cyprus, and Australia. The participants, who are entering 8th through 12th grade partake in a week of fashion-filled activities including a trip to the Coach archives, the renowned Met Museum costume exhibits and Shop Studios (site of numerous high fashion photo shoots and events) as well as instruction in everything from merchandising and design to product development and building your own fashion business. Days are spent with industry professionals visiting all the "hot spots" in the fashion epicenter, New York City.
