NAPERVILLE, IL, January 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Telecom Expense Management Industry Association (TEMIA) (http://www.temia.org), the authoritative voice for the Telecom Expense Management (TEM) industry, announced that it has published a report titled: Developing an Exceptional TEM Program: Best Practices for Enterprises and Suppliers that Raise TEM Performance through Key Performance Indicators and Industry Standards. This report can be downloaded for free from the TEMIA website at http://tinyurl.com/ylx55pd.

"TEMIA's educational initiatives and focus on publishing Best Practices and developing KPIs demonstrates how TEM companies can influence the industry for the betterment of our clients. TEMIA is poised to build upon the successes we have achieved and help our clients' maximize their investments by streamlining their relationships with their technology supply partners," stated Larry Foster vice president and general manager for PAETEC Software Corporation (http://www.pinnsoft.com), a division of PAETEC. Larry Foster also serves as president of TEMIA and chairman for the committee that focuses on standards, KPIs, metrics, and benchmarks.

David Wise, co-founder and managing partner of mindWireless.(http://www.mindwireless.com) echoed the sentiments of many association members stating, "TEMIA's effort to set standards for TEM is a big step forward for an increasingly complex and critical function." Wise added, "Having these KPIs formally recognized gives TEM firms a common set of performance standards, but more importantly, it gives organizations a clearer understanding of how to select a TEM provider that will best meet their needs and to more effectively structure a productive TEM program that will offer savings and efficiency."

"Enterprise IT now commonly sees network costs exceeding 25% of their operating budgets, and it is still growing. At these expense levels, companies must apply basic enterprise supply-chain and resource management processes to reduce and optimize costs. We are excited to see TEMIA and its members taking a leadership role in driving the TEM 2.0 KPIs and Performance Metrics needed to benchmark and measure the effectiveness of these critical cost reduction efforts. These performance metrics can also serve as a diagnostic tool to help the enterprise achieve best practice results," said David C. Snow, vice president, customer and field operations for Cerylion (http://www.cerylion.com).

TEMIA is developing a series of papers on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), benchmarks and standards written for enterprises, government, TEM suppliers, and other organizations. Many of these materials will initially be available for free to members and non-members. Organizations should act now, while these materials are available, to download the report http://tinyurl.com/ylx55pd, read a blog on TEM issues, and access recorded webcasts. The webcast on TEM Best Practices (http://tinyurl.com/yh3ojrb) features some of the materials in the report titled Developing an Exceptional TEM Program: Best Practices for Enterprises and Suppliers that Raise TEM Performance through Key Performance Indicators and Industry Standards.

Managers that are interested in learning about best practices related to mobility, critical new trends that are shaping enterprise mobility, asset management, and mobile help desks should register for the January 20 webcast on mobility at http://tinyurl.com/ykk7wwm.
