Terry L. DeVassie Celebrates 50 Years of Success in Management

    WESTERVILLE, OH, October 12, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Terry L. DeVassie has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. A retired newspaper executive, Mr. DeVassie began his career in 1957 when he joined The Columbus Dispatch as an office clerk. He remained with the newspaper for a total of 45 years, ultimately taking on the role of director of circulation before leaving the industry in 2002. In an attempt to supplement his industry experience with formal training, Mr. DeVassie attended The Ohio State University and The Columbus College of Art and Design, graduating with degrees in Architecture, Industrial Design with a minor in Advertising in 1964.

Mr. DeVassie designed and built custom homes early in his career, has been a partner in Preston-Strat Investments since 1993, and began a Handyman business known as the Irrigation Eliminators in 2005. From 1986 to 2006 he was a member of the Board of Governors of the Cincinnati Shriners Burn Hospital and then a Member of the Board of Trustees of Shriners Hospitals for Children. Mr. DeVassie served as president of The Press Club of Ohio in 1983 and 1984. His other affiliations include the Ohio Circulation Managers Association, the Ohio Newspaper Association of America and the International Circulation Managers Association. In 1984, he received the President's Award from the Ohio Newspaper Association, in 1996 he received the Ohio Circulation Managers Association President's Award, which he founded in 1982, and in 1992 he received the President's Award from the International Circulation Managers Association.

Although retired, Mr. DeVassie continues to be recognized for his prior contributions to the newspaper industry, which includes patents for the design of a drive-up newspaper rack and changeable graphic inserts for newspaper racks. He is also a highly regarded speaker in the areas of newspaper circulation management, hospitals and hospital information services.
Since 1989, Mr. DeVassie has been included in a wide variety of honors publications, including Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest, and Who's Who in the World. In addition, he was featured in the 3rd edition of Who's Who in Entertainment and the 1st edition of Who's Who in Media and Communication.
