DALLAS, TX, May 11, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carl J. Taylor & Co., a Texas executive search firm based in Dallas, is receiving an increase in inquiries from employers who are unable to find the people they need for middle and senior level executive positions. According to Carl Taylor, President of the firm, the inquiries are coming from a wide variety of businesses.
"We have had a number of contacts from some very small companies," said Taylor. "Some of these smaller organizations are start-ups or relatively new companies, but many of them have been in business for several years." Taylor also noted that larger companies are also calling regarding their hiring needs. He stated that all of these companies have hiring needs for a variety of reasons, including new business opportunities, expansion into new markets or product lines, filling delayed hiring needs due to the economy, retirements, and changes brought on by evaluations of their existing management teams.
Taylor indicated that the inquiries are not concentrated in one or a few industries. He has received assignments in professional services, manufacturing, hospitality, media, financial services, real estate, and engineering. "The industry picture continues to be mixed," said Taylor. "One manufacturing company may be pursuing new management hires, and another one in the same business down the street may not."
Similarly, the functional backgrounds and skill sets being sought include a wide range of capabilities. "We have pursued sales, accounting/finance, general management, technical, and operations professionals," said Taylor. The demand for experienced sales people has been especially strong, but each company has unique requirements.
"Given our Dallas location and our experience in Texas, most of the inquiries we receive concern Texas based positions," said Taylor. Some of these requests for services have come from companies located out of state or overseas which have existing Texas operations or which are considering expansion into Texas.
The increase in hiring activity is encouraging to Taylor; however, the overall Texas recruitment picture is still inconsistent. A lot of companies and business owners are hesitant to hire because of the uncertainty in the economy. Taylor noted, "The demand for people is picking up, but I believe we will see some significant increases as the fog of uncertainty lifts."
