Texas Stadium in Irving to be Imploded April 11, 2010
Plans underway for spectators to watch the Implosion of Texas Stadium in Irving, one of the most recognized structures in the world.

    IRVING, TX, March 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Texas Stadium in Irving, the iconic facility that served as home of the Dallas Cowboys for 37 years, will be imploded shortly after 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2010.

Interest around Texas Stadium's implosion continues to build and outlets have developed so the public can be involved in the demolition progress up until the implosion. Public parking on the day of implosion is available at the stadium's red parking lot, and is $25 per vehicle. Proceeds will benefit local Irving, Texas charities. Parking spaces at Texas Stadium in Irving are available on a first come, first served basis and are limited to approximately 5,000 spaces.

Six installed cameras will capture the process leading up to the historic event, as well as Texas Stadium's implosion itself. Four cameras are located outside the stadium; two cameras on the inside will go down upon implosion of the stadium. KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese CHEDDAR EXPLOSION sponsored the Texas Stadium implosion event with a contest offered to kids (ages 9-12), encouraging them to submit an essay describing his/her dynamic impact in the community. Food and monetary donations on behalf of KRAFT will go to local charities in Irving, Texas.

Hotel deals and packages are available for visitors planning to visit Irving for the Texas Stadium implosion. Most packages include meals, transportation from DFW International Airport and the implosion event.

After the Texas Stadium implosion, the 75-plus acres will become an open canvas for development, along with an additional 300+ acres surrounding the stadium site, referred to as "Crossroads DFW." Situated at one of the most visible landmarks in Dallas-Fort Worth, the Crossroads DFW site will be available for development for many future uses.
