CHICAGO, IL, February 04, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This Valentine, Thaakat Foundation is honoring women worldwide through its L.O.V.E. Campaign. The L.O.V.E. Campaign is part of the Break the Silence project, which aims to shed light on the increasing instances of violence against women.
Research has shown that 1 in 4 women around the world will be a victim of violent abuse in her lifetime. Gender violence deters women from succeeding and leads to an unhealthy society.
Moreover, speaking of gender based violence is stigmatized in many countries around the world, which is the reason it is also known as the silent epidemic. We at Thaakat have chosen to SPEAK UP.
This campaign urges women to stand up for their respect, and at the same time encourages men to esteem the women in their lives.
Hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit women in need, nationally and globally. We also support female literacy by operating schools in under privileged communities of Ghana and Pakistan. Of our 500 students, approximately 40% are females, and many of them are struggling to gain an education each day. Thaakat stands firmly by the conviction that education empowers women.
You can unite with us in Speaking Up by contributing on the L.O.V.E. Campaign page, http://www.tinyurl.com/lovethywoman.
This Valentine's Day, give the gift of love and respect to an important woman in your life. When you donate to the L.O.V.E. campaign, a Valentine's card will be sent to the woman you have chosen to honor:
