About the 2009 Hyundai Genesis
With their new flagship model the Genesis, Hyundai has introduced an all-new sedan for 2009. This new vehicle is Hyundai's first rear-wheel-drive car for the US market. The 2009 Hyundai Genesis is a spacious luxury vehicle into which technology has been used liberally.
Powertrain and Performance
The 2009 Hyundai Genesis comes in two trim levels. The base 3.8-liter V6 engine has an output of 290 horsepower, while the higher 4.6-liter Tao, V8 engine delivers 375 horsepower. Continuously Variable Valve Timing, which optimizes the power, is given for both engines. Both trims have a six-speed automatic gearbox with manual shift capability.
EPA estimates for the 2009 Hyundai Genesis are 18/27 mpg city/hwy for the V6 trim, and 17/25 for the V8 version.
Features
The 2009 Hyundai Genesis has a long list of standard and optional features for both the interiors and exteriors. Among these are automatic headlights, fog lights, cruise control, 17-inch alloy wheels (18-inch alloy wheels for the V8), a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, dual power heated leather upholstery, electric push button start, leather-wrapped dash, door panels, leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel with audio controls, a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, power front seats, heated driver's seat, acoustic laminated windshield and front side glass, electrochromic mirror with HomeLink integrated transceiver and compass, electroluminescent instrument cluster, AM/FM/CD with iPod with auxiliary input jack, a seven-speaker audio system and Bluetooth hands-free telephone. The V8 carries with it an upgraded sound system, which has a six-disc CD changer and 15 Lexicon speakers.
Safety Features
The 2009 Hyundai Genesis has four-wheel anti-lock brakes with brake assistance and electronic brake distribution, eight advanced airbags inclusive of dual front airbags, front and rear seat-mounted side airbags, roof-mounted side curtain airbags for front and rear outboard seat occupants, traction control, electronic stability control and electronic active front head restraints among its standard safety equipment.
