The 2015 Mazda CX-5 Earns 5-Star Safety Rating from Federal Government, Notes Ferman Mazda of Brandon

    TAMPA, FL, January 07, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The results are in for the new model year, and the 2015 Mazda CX-5 crossover vehicle earned a full five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, (1) reports Ferman Mazda of Brandon. The rating applies to both the all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive versions of the CX-5. (1)

The Mazda CX-5 was one of the first models to have its 2015 NHTSA rating released. It earned five stars in each of the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover test. (1) The 2015 edition of the CX-5 won't see any major changes over the 2014 model year, which earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick+ rating last year. (1)

The 2015 CX-5 has plenty of standard safety equipment that contributes to its consistently high ratings, such as ultra-high tensile steel, side impact door beams, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake distribution and brake assist, stability control, traction control, and a "crushable" brake pedal assembly to minimize injury to the driver.
