NEW YORK, NY, March 31, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The 2nd Annual NYC Twestival on March 25, 2010 brought digerati to Good Units by Hudson, a former YMCA gymnasium in the Hudson Hotel basement, for an evening of music and mingling to benefit Concern Worldwide, raising nearly $20,000. An entirely volunteer-organized event, 100% of ticket sales and donations are donated directly to the cause.

With musical performances by Brooklyn-based hip hop/rock band Shinobi Ninja and DJs Mister Disco and Axis Powers, drinks courtesy of headline sponsor PepsiCo, photography by Mo Pitz and renowned origami artist Sok Song designing giant origami Twitter birds for the raffle, guests had plenty to "tweet" about. The event hosted over 350 attendees and raised over $19,000 for Concern Worldwide, placing New York City in the top five cities that participated in the global Twestival event.

Concern Worldwide also received a $100,000 national challenge grant from the Entrepreneurs Foundation/Austin Ventures. The group will match every dollar raised by Twestival Global, up to $100K.

NYC Twestival was sponsored by PepsiCo, The Barbarian Group, Bing, Boxee, CNN, Foursquare, OneDerr Inc., PopChips, Rypple, Syncapse and Thrillist.
