The remarkable exhibition of classic sculpture that celebrated City National Bank's opening its Regional Center, in Summerlin, premiered the Chiurazzi Worldwide Collection in Nevada... a first opportunity for Las Vegans and visitors to experience the world's most famous art, while visiting the Las Vegas Valley's newest bank facilities.
The connection grew from a relationship between City National Banker Paul Workman and Chiurazzi Worldwide's leadership in Las Vegas. The Chiurazzi Collection is an exhibit of 21 epic works, on display at City National Bank's new regional headquarters, in Summerlin. Originally intended to run through December, 2007, the community's enthusiastic response led City National Bank and Chiurazzi to extend their exhibition through January 25th, 2008. Among the major works exhibited are the amazing, massive Laocoönte (from the Vatican,) Vittoria Brescia, Donatello's Davide and Giambologna's familiar Mercurio Volant . Additionally, visitors can see Chiurazzi Foundry renditions of a helmet used by training gladiators in Herculaneum, the beautiful and infamous Torso di Aphrodite and Venus Andomante.
Fonderia Storica Chiurazzi, the near-mythic Chiurazzi Foundry in Naples, is the only of its kind remaining from an era, centuries ago, when lost-wax casting was developed as an art form to capture remarkable bronze renditions. The Chiurazzi collection of some 1500 moulds is a time capsule... a pristine record of history's greatest sculpture, before time and travails took their toll, as well as 600 artifacts recorded just as they were excavated from Pompeii and Herculaneum.
Chiurazzi Worldwide brings together the moulds and artisans of a reborn Fonderia Storica Chiurazzi with an opportunity to showcase its wonderful renditions for nearly 40 million Las Vegas visitors, each year.
