/24-7PressRelease/ - March 11, 2008 - Equan always dreamt about rocking the microphone as a headliner at Madison Square Garden and Nassau Coliseum but didn't want to be like other artists who didn't know or understand the music business. In 1992 Equan was lead rapper for the rap group "I.N.S.I.T.E". His first song on the radio "The Prominent Black Style" received New York airplay. New York's own Kid Capri and DJ Silver Dee showed loved by blasting Equan's music on WBLS. Equan went on to doing shows at nightclubs like The Muse Homebass, and Club Esso's. Equan also did performances as a crowd pleaser at the Palladium Philadelphia Music Conference, CJ's Sports Bar, Madison Square Garden and many more hot spots. At this time he was learning the business by being behind the scenes with groups like Nice and Smooth and Gangstarr. Equan would bump into other great rap artist who taught him a lot about the music business like Dres from Blacksheep KRS One, The Original Gucci Man Vance Wright, Capone, Jay Z, Busta Rhymes, and many more who are not around today.

Equan left "I.N.S.I.T.E." and started being managed by T.M.L. Management. With Terry Lindsey by Equan's side he showed E a big part of the Hip Hop game. Getting Equan back on radio Terry sought out the underground rap game to push this new talented artist. With spots on the Stretch Armstrong show and New York University College Radio Equan continued recording as a member of Tru II Dis. Equan was also showed that the music business was more than fun and games he thought it was. Equan also ended up on DJ Ekim's mixed tape doing the chorus for Tru II Dis "Chicken Heads" and "Clap Your Hands". During this time Equan experience a lot of trials and tribulations that left him confused and stressed about what he wanted to do with his life. He started going to school for business and computers where he learned Sales Marketing, Promotions, Networks and Desktop Support for computer systems and Economics.

Now with music on the radio and doing exclusive shows he has currently started his own record label called Quancheye Recordz based in Florida. You can purchase his music and view his videos on http://www.myspace.com/equan .
"I was born and raised in the cold borough of the Bronx in New York. Introduced to the music scene by the group "INSITE" when I was seventeen as a rapper I am forever grateful to those members. Now 13 years later I run my own label. Quancheye Records will be at the forefront of the Hip Hop scene in less then 3 years. Watch as I will say in the future "I TOLD YOU SO" - Equan.
Now as Owner/Artist under Quancheye Records Equan is coming stronger and better.

The Best Of Equan is the new hottest cd on the market.
