Drapeau has worked closely with Founder & Chairman, Rich Tola, since working together on his yoga-inspired film, BOULEVARD ZEN. In addition to co-starring in the film, Drapeau also served as Associate Producer and was instrumental in character development as it relates to domestic violence. Drapeau holds a Masters in Social Work and is involved in other philanthropic ventures including STEMTech Global Foundation, where she assists orphanages abroad.
Tola's inspiration to start the foundation came from his deeply rooted belief that yoga changes lives. It was through the creation of the film's protagonist, Bobby D'Angelo, that Tola affirmed the importance of yoga specifically for women and children of domestic violence.
Earlier this month The Boulevard Zen Foundation began teaching in The Good Shepherd Shelter of Los Angeles. Their unique program includes three distinct yoga classes for children of varying age groups, while mothers and children are taught a combined class further strengthening their familial bond. The foundation continues to expand, as it recently approved yoga teachers in New York City and San Francisco.
"Our long term plan is to establish a global network of like-minded yoga teachers empowering the lives of women and children everywhere," says Tola, "and with our next shelters in New York City and San Francisco, we will further solidify our business model and be uniquely poised to expand throughout the United States, and ultimately the world."
