"Going green can put thousands of dollars back in your wallet each year, allowing you to live a much richer life, while preserving our planet," according to Natalie Pace.

SANTA MONICA, CA, April 20, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In a call to action for Earth Day, a new group that includes contributors The Dalai Lama, H.R.H. The Prince of Wales, Elon Musk, Gangsta Gardener Ron Finley, The Duchess of Northumberland, Kathleen Rogers (the president of The Earth Day Network), Arianna Huffington, Deepak Chopra and more, has come together to offer wisdom on sustainability in two free Earth Gratitude ebooks. These picturesque mini ebooks are available for download at http://earthgratitude.org/, as part of the Earth Gratitude challenge.

What is the Global Earth Gratitude Challenge?
On April 22nd, Earth Day, we're encouraging everyone to power up the gratitude and power down the grid, getting as close to personal net zero as possible for at least one hour. Whether your celebration is an intimate, candlelit, plant-based dinner, a community or school garden planting spree, or an epic, unplugged drum circle under the stars, there are bound to be fresh insights gained from pushing pause on the daily routine and trying something new. You can even have a screening of the 4-minute Earth Gratitude film, shot, scored and directed by the creative mind of Cirque du Soleil promo-man Alvin Tam. The 4-minute film features Alvin, Jada and Satori, who made a brave move to an off-grid lifestyle, after being inspired by the indigenous people of the Sacred Valley in Peru.

As Deepak Chopra reminds us, "We call her "the environment," but Mother Earth is our extended body that nourishes our existence in every moment of our life. Let us work to keep her sustainable, so we may in turn be nourished and sustained. Start by devoting at least one hour on April 22nd to give thanks for Mother Nature, and get as close as possible to personal net zero."

Valentine's Day has date night. Thanksgiving has dinner. And now there is the perfect way to celebrate Earth Day - your way, which can change every year... Be sure to keep it fun!

Some Important Facts... According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, 80% of U.S. carbon emissions come from the energy sector - mostly transportation and electricity. So riding a bike and unplugging for at least one hour on Earth Day can be a powerful start to better habits. So can insulating your home, switching to LED lighting, planting trees, setting up organic gardens at home, school and in your community, test-driving EVs, powering by solar, and many of the other tips outlined in the Earth Gratitude mini ebooks.

"Going green can put thousands of dollars back in your wallet each year, allowing you to live a much richer life, while preserving our planet," according to Natalie Pace, the co-creator of the Earth Gratitude project. Gangsta Gardener Ron Finley notes that "Growing your own food is like printing your own money."

"Planting and nurturing trees are virtuous acts," His Holiness, The 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet, said in his essay on Practical Steps Towards Protection of the Environment.

"Given that annual new vehicle production is approaching 100 million per year and the global fleet is approximately 2 billion cars, it is impossible for Tesla to build electric cars fast enough to address the carbon crisis," Elon Musk wrote, explaining why he opened up Tesla's proprietary technology to the world.

"Earth Gratitude is an exquisite expression of love for Gaia, Mother Earth. This is the exactly the awareness for which Bodhi Tree stands, and we are honored to be included alongside so many extraordinary, beneficial organizations and individuals," Stephen Powers, the CEO of Bodhi Tree, said. Kathleen Rogers, the president of the Earth Day Network, reminds us that, "When everyone pulls together and does their part, the world will be a better place. Not just now, but for generations to come."
