THE EASTER BUNNY IS ALIVE, WELL... AND, LIVING IN LAS VEGAS

Local & national retailers, merchants and manufacturers — along with more than 60 volunteers and individual contributors — put smiles on the faces of homeless kids at Easter

/24-7PressRelease/ - LAS VEGAS, NV, February 13, 2007 - For 16 years, E Bunny has delivered goodies to the neediest children in the cities where she's lived and worked. That's right, the Easter Bunny is a girl... a nice Jewish girl. And she's getting her 2007 baskets ready, right now.

"I get requests from shelters every year," says coordinator Barbara Kenig, who delivers hundreds of baskets every Easter. "We specifically look for groups and organizations that aren't sponsored by large charities or outreach programs; we look for those who otherwise wouldn't have Easter baskets for the kids."

Since 1990, EBunny — with the generous help of retailers, industry and individual contributors, and more than 60 dedicated volunteers — has delivered thousands of baskets to children in need. Merchants and manufacturers across America (the likes of Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco, Russ Berrie & Company, BestEver Inc., Ethel M/M&M Colorworks, Target Stores and 99Cents Only Stores) have helped through the years.

In her other life, Kenig runs In The Public Eye, an outcome-driven PR and media relations firm in Las Vegas. EBunny and her husband, V21C President Howard Kenig, are members of Temple Beth Sholom in Summerlin, where Barbara serves on the Board of Directors.

"In Jewish, it's called tzedakah... giving to help someone in need," she explains.
Kenig recounts a grandparent who stopped by the Las Vegas City Mission to pick up baskets for her grandkids, one year. "The parents couldn't afford to buy Easter baskets... and the kids woke up crying, thinking the Easter Bunny had forgotten them. Just then, the phone rang... it was grandma telling the kids to look on the front porch. Two big bunny baskets were waiting. When the kids saw the baskets on the porch, they screamed with glee... "Mommy, you locked the Easter Bunny out!'"
