Dr. Eagle will be the moderator for a forum entitled United States and The Islamic Capital Markets. This session will focus on the position of New York in regards to Islamic Finance. Participants will discuss the regulatory requirements and tax issues, what it takes to build the necessary infrastructure, recent developments in Islamic finance at home and abroad, and New York's future role and prospects in Islamic finance.
With previous experience working with Islamic financial institutions, Dr. Eagle will contribute her expertise to the discussion and help answer important questions. The Islamic Finance News Forum Road Show 2008 (http://www.islamicfinanceevents.com/ifnforum2008/about_ny.php) is a series of one-day forums hosted at 9 of the world's developing markets for Shariah finance in 2008.
