The Elements of Nursing Home Negligence—When You Can Sue for Improper Care

· A heavily sedated or overly medicated state
· Abrupt changes in his or her will or other financial documents
· Antisocial behavior
· Bedsores
· Changes in medication
· Dehydration
· Depression
· Elopement or sudden unexplained romantic involvement
· Emotional outbursts and/or crying
· Emotional, mental, physical, and/or sexual abuse
· Falls

· Not being able to get help when asking for it or being refused help
· Poor hygiene

· Unexplained physical bruises, cuts, burns, fractures, marks, sores, or sprains
· Wandering

In addition you may notice these things about visitors of potential nursing home abuse victims.

· They are delayed before visiting residents
· They are not allowed by staff members
· They aren't permitted to be alone with residents
