The First Tee of Orange County Announces Third Annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament

Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club to host premier charity event to help promote life skills for local youth through golf.

ANAHEIM, CA, April 24, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The First Tee of Orange County (TFTOC), a nonprofit committed to providing youth with translatable life skills through the game of golf, will host its third annual pro-am golf tournament on Monday, August 31, 2015, at Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club. Proceeds will benefit TFTOC, enabling young people to be successful on and off the golf course. The charity event will help raise funds for youth golf programs and education.

"After two wonderful years at spectacular, 18-hole Tustin Ranch Golf Club, our annual event has outgrown a traditional layout, and we're excited to be moving to one of the finest facilities in Southern California to use all 36 holes," said Gail Krause, executive director of TFTOC. "Coto de Caza is a reputable and award-winning golf destination, and tournament participants can look forward to a fantastic, inspirational day at one of the area's top courses."

The tournament will begin at 11 a.m. with registration, followed by a shotgun start at noon. The scramble format event will offer amateur golfers the opportunity to experience a beautiful private course alongside 44 golf professionals - competing for their share of a $10,000 purse. Each pro will be paired with a foursome. Golfers will also receive forecaddie services from TFTOC youth participants, who will be supporting each group and demonstrating what TFTOC has taught them about life and golf.

The golf event will conclude with a reception and dinner at 5 p.m., including a silent auction, award ceremony and speeches from youth participants. Tee packages with a retail value of $500 will be provided by Roger Dunn Golf Shops.

"Having been involved with The First Tee of Orange County personally and professionally since day one, I'm honored and excited to lead the charge for the third annual pro-am tournament," said Al Morris, president of Worldwide Golf Enterprises, the parent company of Roger Dunn Golf, and vice president of TFTOC's board of directors. "As this year's committee chair, I feel even more enthusiastic about bringing the community together at this beautiful course to continue the work being done for young people across Orange County."
Sponsorship packages for the tournament range from $350 to $15,000. Individual player fee is $400. Dinner tickets are $100. For questions regarding event sponsorship, contact Gail Krause at [email protected] or call 714-833-8221.
