Even though DullesMarketplace.com is just a few months old, it is already making a difference in the lives of the residents, visitors, and businesses of a the ever-growing Dulles Corridor and Fairfax County areas in Northern Virginia.
"We originally created DullesMarketplace.com to be a site which allowed the residents and visitors of this area to simply locate a business. Soon, we realized that it was not enough and we wanted to make it a first-stop site for everyone in the community. We added enough local resources that it quickly turned into a place where everyday, average people come to not only get local information and news, but to save money as well," stated Ted Romero, one of the managing partners of the business.
The business guide currently has almost 40,000 businesses listed. They also added a photo classified ad section, news feeds, area guides, forums, and more.
"The news page we added currently pulls feeds from hundreds of local and national news services and puts them into different categories," Romero stated. "These pages are updated instantaneously and seem to be one of the most popular sections of the website."
Their 'Local Resource Guide' links on their pages allow a visitor to keep up on real-time traffic conditions, weather conditions, and check the status of any flight coming in and going out of Dulles Airport. There is also a place where one can also sign up to receive coupons and discounts from local merchants. Soon there will be a business review section where visitors can not only read local merchant reviews, but add their own.
"To celebrate the launch of our site, we are allowing local businesses to add their information to business directory for free. We are also offering free classified ad placements for the rest of the year. And we are also running huge discounts on all types of advertising as well," stated Romero.
