INVERNESS, SCOTLAND, September 25, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Scottish peace activist and Evangelical Christian, David Holdsworth, astounded many fellow Christians by compiling his first book in opposition to the doctrine of war. It was published with Lulu.com.

Mr. Holdsworth seized the opportunity to use his idle time while resting from his work as a Carer in the Inverness L'arche community, researching and compiling his 90-page book "The Forgotten" on the community computer.

Shane Claiborne, author of "Irresistible Revolution" on seeing the original project idea commented, "A thundering harmony of peace. This is a beautiful contribution to one of the most important conversations in the world. May we join the marching of the guerilla peacemakers who dance to the drums of peace amid all the noise of war."

Christopher B Holdworth, a preacher and theologian also comments, "David's passion for his subject is quite clearly seen in the choice of text for this compilation. Even those who do not share his pacifistic view of Christianity are left in no doubt as to the author's intent. In his introduction he mentions that many of the articles which he is reproducing often seem to have been forgotten. Hence the title, The Forgotten....David is a man of his convictions. Whether we come to the same conclusions, the question/argument will not go away."

The book was some time in the making, with various ideas and editions being tested. The very first idea was far too long. The wealth of information on Christianity and peace that Mr David Holdsworth uncovered was overwhelming. But, by careful selection and use of free time the final manuscript became ready in 2008.

Mr. Holdsworth says: "Only a few years ago I would have struggled to find both the time and the publisher to enable me to create this book. Thanks to God and the other peacemakers out there I am now happy to be a published author."

Although the book is titled "The Forgotten," it is hoped that the content and people featured in the collection of peace writings will indeed finally be remembered!

David Holdsworth is 26 years old and works in the L'arche Community, Inverness, Scotland. He has been active in the peace movement and evangelical churches for some time. His present memberships include the local Baptist Church, and Christian Outreach Centre, The World Peace Prayer Society, Christian Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, and in the past he has also been active in The Highland Coalition for Justice Not War.

His book can be found at http://stores.lulu.com/peacepublications
