LONDON, UK, November 27, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Air Commodore Brian Newby of the RAF is scheduled to reveal details of the U.K.'s newest flight training programme, the Military Flying Training System (MFTS) to a global panel of high level military personnel and defence industry representatives at Defence IQ's Military Flight Training Conference in February.

Defence Minister Baroness Taylor said the new programme would improve military flight training by, "Bringing together the current range of fragmented training schemes into one modern and cohesive programme."

The new training programme, said to be worth an agreed initial sum of 635 million to the Ascent Corporation providing the programme, promises to utilise new initiatives in training strategy and cutting edge flight training technology. This presentation will lead the conference programme that includes speeches on flight training requirements from many of the world's leading military powers, and the progress of the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) given by Brigadier General Franco Marsiglia, Chairman of the ENJJPT Steering Committee.

The speaker panel will also address the latest issues and requirements of military flight training in Europe and the rest of the world, with many discussions opened to participants so that all perspectives will be heard. Attendees are also scheduled to appear at the F-15C/E Mission Training Centre at RAF Lakenheath for a briefing on the operation of this cutting edge simulation and training facility.

The conference is the latest of a series of Military Flight Training conferences, and promises to be "Of great interest and highly valuable content." as Col. Antonio Coppola, from the Italian Air Force Educational Training Command said of last years' event.
