The hotel provides a suggested menu that includes such mouthwatering delights as Buffalo Mozzarella, with sun blushed tomato and slices of Parma ham, on Focaccia bread; toasted chicken, avocado and mayonnaise sandwiches; plus Scottish smoked salmon on crusty white bread. It also includes a flask of Gazpacho soup, Chicken Satay skewers with a peanut dip, plus baked American cheesecake and homemade cookies to round everything off. To wash it all down there's homemade lemonade and Champagne. However, you can ask for a selection that includes your own personal favourite foods and beverages - Pimms is always a popular choice!
You might prefer a traditional
Afternoon Tea in the park, in which case you could tuck into a selection of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with Devonshire clotted cream and preserves, French pastries, fruitcake, strawberries with cream, a pot of tea of your choice, maybe served with a half bottle of Champagne - you decide.
Your picnic or tea is set out in
Kensington Gardens, just opposite the hotel - you just wander over with your family, friends or loved one when you are ready. The hotel's butler is on hand to pour the drinks and serve everyone their food. He'll then return to the hotel so you can enjoy an occasion of decadent indulgence in the park's glorious surroundings. However, if you need replenishments, you just give nearby reception a wave and your butler will return to attend to you.
To make the most of this al fresco experience you'll probably want to incorporate the picnic as part of a stay in the hotel. This Tea package is also available to non-residents. Everything is exactly the same, with a magnificent spread laid out ready for you on the grass, and you help yourselves to the goodies, without the butler.
