Built in Bodrum in 2004, the Turkish gulet is now named the Grande Mare, and was known to serve famous celebrities such as Demi Moore, is now under care and maintenance in a marina in Marmaris. The famous Grande Mare is 34 meters in length and 8 meters wide, with a double-engine and equipped with the best sailing equipment in her category. Holding the title of the fastest wooden gulet boat in her category, the Grande Mare will set sail on blue cruise journeys from Marmaris to many exciting destinations and the Greek islands, as she continues to serve this year in the rapidly growing Gulet tourism.
The gulet's internal design is completely hand-made with the finest wood. She will be launched within a month. The Grande Mare Gulet is scheduled to serve Hollywood Superstars this season, along with many local and foreign celebrities in Marmaris and the surrounding region. Purchased for 2.5 million EUR, another estimated 200,000 EUR will be spent for the maintenance of this legendary Turkish gulet. The weekly price for a gulet charter in Turkey on board the Grande Mare is tagged at 65,000 Turkish Liras for those who wish to experience a Gulet Blue Cruise in Turkey. Turkish Gulet Yacht owner of the company, Eyup Bayraktaroglu, who bought it, claims that the Turkish gulet possesses very good hardware. Mr. Bayraktaroğlu conveys that the famous Turkish gulet, known to serve celebrities, will continue to do so this upcoming season, from Marmaris, with the reservations they have received, however expresses that due to the non disclosure agreements in place, he cannot mention any names. Mr. Bayraktaroglu further argues that he foresees a very promising Gulet tourism in the up and coming 5 years and the Gulet tourism itself is and will be an indispensable tool for holidays in Turkey.
