LONDON, ENGLAND, January 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The students experienced the chance to reach out to the community that had been supporting both the educational and social well-being of many families in need of assistance for decades. The Life Skills class is devoted to the continued support of these social and ethical accomplishments. All the students who participate in the Life Skill classes worked hard to make the event a success - a huge feast of various soups and breads was served to both students and the school staff, who all contributed to the donations for the Salvation Army. A sizeable contribution was collected from the Challenge and everyone involved was deeply satisfied with the outcome.

The International Community School (the ICS) is part of the International Baccalaureate schools, a group of institutions devoted to provide learners of all ages with an invigorating learning experience. The ICS is an IB school London area and has achieved both local and international renown due to the results of its teaching methodology. In order to provide a dynamic learning environment to all its students (who are in the 3 to 19 age range), the school applies the International Baccalaureate programme as its main teaching methodology. The Primary Years Programme is used for ages 3 to 11, whilst the Middle Years Programme is available for students on the 11 to 16 age range. Being a true international school London area, the ICS attracts students from all the comers of the world and currently houses learners from 65 different nationalities.

About the Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is a traditional charity organization with the purpose of helping people in practical and concrete ways that solve pressing problems. The organisation does this through their many social service centres and community welfare programmes. The Soup Kitchen Challenge has become a popular new date for the charity calendar and it's an event of which both the Salvation Army and the New Covent Garden Food Co. (the two organizations responsible for the initiative) are particularly proud. Each year people are encouraged to host the Challenge event, which is basically a soup lunch for their family, friends or work colleagues who in exchange make donations (both big and small) that go towards the welfare programmes organised by The Salvation Army. Hosting an event is available for everyone, regardless of culinary abilities, and recipes from the nation's top chefs are frequently posted on The Salvation Army's website.

About IC School
