/24-7PressRelease/ -- The Independence Visitor Center was able to donate more than 200 coats for One Warm Coat through its annual Holiday coat drive, held from November 24 - January 2. The Independence Visitor Center partnered with One Warm Coat and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital's Family Center to host this year's coat drive. The holidays are often a time for giving to those less fortunate, and many locals and visitors alike showed up to give the gift of warmth to those in need by donating over 200 coats.

One Warm Coat was established in San Francisco in 1992 with the intent to collect coats that will be given to those in need. Last year, more than 2,000 coat drives were held across the country throughout the year. Every year, countless children, women, and men have no other choice than to endure the cold temperatures in the harsh winter months. Coat drives such as these are essential tools to ensure that those in need can stay warm this season, especially if they are not able to afford a coat themselves.
