The Mad Hatter Holiday Festival Turns the City of Vallejo into a Wonderland of Enchantment for all to enjoy in this Maddening World with Wonder & Magic plus a Glowing Parade and Tree Lighting

The Mad Hatter Holiday Festival attracts thousands to the historic downtown district with its whimsical and fire-shooting Wonderland recreation that turns the city into a fantasy world for children and adults alike!



Take the Magical Ride on Harry Potter's Night Bus to Vallejo a place filled with wonder, mystery and enchantment! "Have I gone mad?" "I'm afraid so, but tell me something, the best people usually are.

    VALLEJO, CA, November 16, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This year's added attraction in the square by the Tree Lighting includes two mesmerizing Burning Man Sculpture installations: SOMA, which was created for the 2009 Burning Man event by the Flaming Lotus Girls and was displayed for two years on San Francisco's Pier 14. Made of stainless steel, occupying a space of about 40 feet by 25 feet and Mahtusa, a Giant Mechanical Squid by Nevada sculptor Barry Crawford. A hand crafted robotic giant that flexes its mechanical tentacles and movements.

The Parade's Grand Marshal is Vallejo's Legendary Suga-T (Sprinkle Me) who was recently awarded VH1 Hip Hop Honors by Queen Latifah as a West Coast Female Hip Hop Pioneer. She is also the founder of "TGC" Young Grandmothers Club. She is admired as "The First Lady" of her family rap group The Click featuring her brothers E40, D-Shot and cousin B-Legit.

Many award winning lighted and firing mobile artist contraptions ride in the Mad Hatter Parade along with a number of decorated marching bands, there are dancing CAL Maritime Cadets with their beautifully dressed partners as well as a number of Alice in Wonderland characters including the celebrated Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Lion King and other surprises that come out of the rabbit hole from Wonderland, a special visit to our Wonderland this year includes the Night Bus, another lighted Burning Man creation based on Harry Potter's Magical Bus ride.

The Mad Hatter Holiday Festival, Parade, and Tree Lighting is held Saturday, December 3, 2016 more of the Mad Hatter activities are held for several weekends with tea parties and holiday performances: The Empress Theater has daytime and evening holiday shows with free entry on the day of the Festival offering pictures with Santa and holiday music performances.

Wonderland Festival Activities begins at 1:00 PM in Unity Plaza, downtown Vallejo
Mad Hatter Parade starts at 4:30 p.m.
Tree Lighting Ceremony starts at 6:00 p.m.
Lighted Boat Parade starts at 6:30 p.m.

Award winning Burning Man Fire Shooting mobile creations of horses, dragons, mushrooms, and ponies light up Vallejo's downtown streets in the Mad Hatter Holiday Festival. A holiday skateboarding group will make its way to liven up the downtown before the parade and the Hatter Flash Mob will be popping up unexpectedly - be prepared! Live entertainment starts at 1 p.m. on three stages with carolers and guest artists. There will be children rides as well as many creative holiday interactive activities that will line the square. Several food courts with a number of fine cuisines to choose from, plus a magical colorful artisan inflatable sculptured park filled with costumed characters everywhere.

There will be roving lighted Tea Parties in the parade and in the square plus our very own "March of the Wooden Soldiers" with the CAL Maritime Cadets. Many attendees donned with top hats and Victorian attire come in droves to celebrate Wonderland once again in the Mad Hatter that rules on this day!

There is Chester the Firing Pony that Santa rides in on, a recreated glowing space ship that'll fly by the parade, giant moving robots, Krampus puts his spell on the parade with his visit, a multi-colored Vicious Cycle will dazzle any onlooker with it spell-bounded spinning of the lighted rainbow colored wheels, there will be dancing horses, and a visit from Darth Vader and many Star Wars characters taking the parade to Galactic Empires and walking along our Hero of Vallejo, Justin Fowler. Justin is what Vallejo is all about, a survivor, someone that never gives up hope. Diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at 5 years old and received a new set of lungs in 2013 has persevered through 13 surgeries and continues to live his life full of hope and enthusiasm.

In addition, many of the downtown merchants, Victorian home owners, galleries, eateries, besides the theater all participate with Wonderland surprises throughout the month of December.
