/24-7PressRelease/ - FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, January 02, 2007 - When 80 of the best high school football players in the country take the field in the inaugural Offense-Defense All American Bowl on Jan. 4th, they will represent almost four decades of football experience. Players will begin arriving December 30th for camp week during the week beginning January 1st through January 3rd.

The all-star game which kicks off at 7 p.m. at Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale before a nationwide audience on ESPNU is being presented by Offense-Defense Sports--an industry leader, that has been putting on events and football camps for all levels of athletes for 38 years. Over 200,000 players have learned skills at O-D camps that have catapulted them as high as the NFL. Many others have gone on to attain great success in the coaching field at all levels.

The roster of coaches and instructors at the camps reads like a who's who from the pro and college ranks. Twenty-eight of the current NFL head coaches have taught at O-D camps. Many current and former stars of the NFL spend a week or two each year teaching not only football skills but life skills as well. Recent past instructors include Drew Bledsoe, Michael Vick, Ray Lewis and Warren Moon. Even former NFL commissioner, Paul Tagliabue has coached aspiring, young stars with Offense-Defense Sports.

"The Offense-Defense All American Bowl is the natural culmination to our years of experience in working with young players," said bowl director Gary Henderson. "Unlike other games that are strictly marketing tools, we are working to make this game an annual tradition that star athletes from all 50 states can aspire towards." Henderson said the reputation of Offense-Defense Sports translated to immediate support of the game from throughout the sports field.

Rivals.com, a partner in the bowl jumped on board and served as the selection vehicle in helping to choose not only some of the top players in high school football, but also making sure each corner of the country was represented. From Hawaii to the East Coast, the All Americans will descend on southern Florida for an exciting week of football and other events. "The folks at ESPNU looked at the tradition and history of Offense-Defense Sports and without hesitation agreed to broadcast the game," Henderson said. "And just this week as interest in the game has grown with many of the players having announced commitments to the top college programs in the country, ESPNU has moved the game to prime time. That's very exciting and we're proud of that association.
