The Organized Neighbors of Edgewood Hosts Its 2nd Annual Mac & Cheese Festival

The second annual Mac & Cheese Festival will take place in Edgewood on October 7, 2017.

ATLANTA, GA, October 01, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Organized Neighbors of Edgewood (O.N.E.) will host its second annual event, the Edgewood Mac & Cheese Festival, on October 7, 2017, in Atlanta's Walker Park. O.N.E., a neighborhood organization, teams with non-profit Neighbor In Need to continue to bring the neighborhood together for a fun-filled afternoon revolving around a favorite southern staple, mac & cheese. Proceeds benefit Neighbor In Need's goal of ensuring continued affordability for Edgewood's long-term residents.

Located in Walker Park, at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Memorial Terrace, the tasting event will host 10 Atlanta vendors who will showcase the richest, most delicious mac & cheese fare that their renowned chefs have to offer.

A day in the park shouldn't be spent without tunes, so there will be some top local talent providing a soundtrack while visitors eat. With musical acts like All the Locals, Sailing to Denver and legendary headliner Charlie Wooton with Zydefunk, the fest is sure to fill bellies and encourage dancing.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing the neighborhood and the city come together to celebrate the deliciousness of mac and cheese, while also raising money for our low income and elderly neighbors," said festival director KaeAnne Parris. "The city is changing, and this is a great way to keep our neighbors in the neighborhood. We saw 1,700 attendees last year, and raised $25,000! The second annual [mac 'n cheese festival] will be fantastic!"

Neighbor In Need is currently reinvesting the raised funds back into the community by helping low income and elderly neighbors afford costly emergency home repairs. Complete with bike racks for bicycle parking and plenty of alcoholic beverages to go around, O.N.E. aims to ensure that partakers' afternoons are ones of not only pure, but also safe, unadulterated cheesiness.
