/24-7PressRelease/ - December 11, 2007 - Opening its doors in September 2008, RSICA is set to be a unique graduate school offering a Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Cinematic Arts to a small group of exceptionally talented students from the Middle East.
The two year, full time MFA in Cinematic Arts Program at RSICA has been tailor- designed with research and consultation from a selection of the most successful film schools in the world. The MFA curriculum has been designed specifically for needs of the region; to produce industry-ready graduates who are skilled craftspeople, and highly employable critical thinkers, professionally trained and experienced in all areas of pre-production, production, and post-production.
Graduates will have mastered a wide range of practical, creative and business skills, working in teams to create signature pieces in a variety of fiction, documentary and experimental forms that will have regional and international distribution.
On campus in the Red Sea resort town of Aqaba, RSICA will offer an intensive learning environment based on teamwork and theory in practice, led by an exceptional international faculty. The school's admission will be based on evidence of potential and talent through a portfolio of creative work, not limited to film or media examples, and personal interview. Application is open to individuals from the Middle East with a Bachelor's degree in any subject, and a number of scholarships will be available based on financial need and competitive talent.
Through the ongoing support of the Royal Film Commission of Jordan, and in historic partnership with the University Of Southern California's School Of Cinematic Arts, RSICA is set to graduate its first class in the year 2010.
Commenting on this official inauguration, Mr. James Hindman, Senior Consultant at RSICA said, "RSICA is open to applicants who are passionate about both the film and the media industry. We feel that RSICA is a haven for creativity and a place that gives voice to the unique cultures and extraordinary talents embedded within regional communities. By opening our doors for admissions, we are targeting creative individuals from around the globe, as our aim is to produce a generation of graduates who have the skills, experience, and confidence they need to compete in the world's competitive film production and media fields. We hope that through the educational programs we offer that we are helping creative minds to effectively respond to the boom currently seen in the global film making industry and we encourage anyone who has a dream to shine or to pursue a creative way of life to apply to RSICA as our doors are always open. The RSICA website is a strong introduction to this unique new school and the vision behind it, we are proud of both"
