Hollywood Hotel & Spa will join community leaders in supporting the 2008 AIDS Walk Los Angeles, striving to spread AIDS awareness and beat last year's fundraising record of $3.9 million. Funds go to AIDS Program Los Angeles (APLA) and other AIDS service organizations throughout the county.

Since its inception in 1985, the Walk has become a Los Angeles tradition - a celebration of commitment and determination in the face of daunting odds. The Walk begins and ends at beautiful West Hollywood Park at San Vincente Blvd., between Melrose Ave and Santa Monica Blvd., encompassing a loop of approximately 10 km and 2-3 hours. With the $3.9 million raised last year, APLA and 20 other AIDS organizations in Southern California were able to continue to supply critical AIDS education, awareness, and prevention campaigns. APLA provides comprehensive, life-sustaining services to the 50,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County. All of this is dependent on the continuing support of the Hollywood community.
