The Universal Valve Double Poppet Emergency Shut-Off Valve, model 521DP, was developed to be easily repairable to save money. The Universal 521DP offers a shear section price advantage with no need to purchase expensive replacement poppet tops. The Universal Valve 521DP has the only three piece design in the industry, allowing for two independent seals to increases safety while reducing future labor and replacement costs. Should the Double Poppeted Shear Section needs to be replaced there will be savings over $300.00 per unit versus other manufacturers in labor and materials.
With total safety in mind, the Universal Double Poppet Safety Valve is designed to immediately stop product flow in the event of fire or collision at the dispenser. In a low impact collision, Universal's emergency shut-off valve is designed to stop product flow and prevent fuel leakage into sumps, avoiding potentially dangerous situations while refueling at the pump. Only Universal offers an independent upper and lower seal on the Double Poppet. This design saves time and potential environmental expenses due to its patented three section valve which does not need to be drained before replacement. Both poppet and seats are completely independent of the shear section, so when sheared the valve assures a 100% liquid tight seal.
The 521DP is zinc plated for maximum corrosion resistance as well as being UL listed and conforming to NFPA 30A. The fusible link allows the valve to close automatically to reduce the risk of fire hazards. An air test port allows line testing without breaking the integrity of the line.
