AUSTIN, TX, July 21, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stephen W. Stewart, founding member of The Stewart Law Firm, P.L.L.C. in Austin, Texas, has filed a lawsuit in Bexar County, Texas state district court on behalf of the family involved in a fatal commercial truck crash. According to the lawsuit, on July 15, 2011, a family was driving northbound on IH-35 when a commercial truck driver, operating a 2006 Volvo tractor, which was pulling a loaded box trailer, unsafely changed lanes of travel, causing his tractor/trailer to sideswipe the vehicle occupied by the victims. After being sideswiped with the truck driver's tractor/trailer, the victims' vehicle struck a guardrail, which caused the vehicle to rotate under the truck driver's loaded box-trailer. The victims' vehicle was then dragged under the loaded truck's trailer approximately 800 feet, catching the passenger vehicle on fire. The driver of the passenger car burned to death as family members helplessly watched. The surviving passengers in the car also suffered serious personal injuries. At the time of the collision, it is alleged that the Defendant truck driver, Edwin Trammell, was acting as an employee and/or at the direction of the Defendant truck owner, De Transport, LLC. In the lawsuit, counsel for the family has alleged that the truck owner company, and its truck driver employee, was negligent, negligent per se, and grossly negligent in causing the crash, resulting in the victims' injuries, harms, and losses.

Regarding the recently filed lawsuit, attorney Stephen W. Stewart explains that The Stewart Law Firm is steadfast in the pursuit of justice on behalf of its victim clients. "Simple rules of the road are in place for all truck drivers to follow. These rules were specifically put into place to safeguard the health, safety, and general welfare of the driving public. When these rules are not followed, tragic and sometimes, like in the case of this family, catastrophic events can occur. We intend to prosecute this case in the hope that we can make a difference as to how truck drivers and truck owner and operators perform their duties on Texas roadways. It is about saving lives," explains Stewart.

The Stewart Law Firm is an Austin, Texas based law firm that prides itself in being on the front-line in fighting for victims' rights and keeping proper checks and balances in place to assure that wrong-doers and dangerous products do not injure or harm innocent people.
